We are seeking an experienced Director of Warehousing Operations to lead and oversee multiple moving and storage warehouse facilities in the Bronx. This role will be responsible for ensuring consistent operational standards across locations, managing warehouse leadership teams, and driving disciplined processes for crate handling, inventory control, and daily loading and offloading operations.
Our warehouses operate in a fast-paced moving and storage environment, with daily inbound and outbound activity, wooden crate storage systems, and coordination with moving crews. The Director of Warehousing Operations will ensure operational efficiency, safety, and accuracy across all locations while implementing scalable processes that support the company’s growth.
This leader must bring strong operational discipline, moving industry experience, and a hands-on approach to managing multi-site warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
Oversee warehouse operations across multiple moving and storage facilities, ensuring consistency in processes, performance, and service delivery
Lead and manage warehouse managers, supervisors, and warehouse teams across all locations
Establish and enforce standardized operating procedures for crate handling, storage, loading, and offloading operations
Ensure accurate inventory tracking of wooden storage crates, household goods, and shipment documentation
Oversee daily inbound and outbound warehouse activity, including coordination with moving crews and dispatch teams
Develop and track operational KPIs including crate accuracy, warehouse throughput, productivity, and operational efficiency
Conduct regular site visits and operational audits to ensure compliance with safety, operational, and company standards
Identify inefficiencies in warehouse workflows and implement process improvements across facilities
Manage staffing structures and labor planning across warehouse locations to support daily operational demands
Ensure proper handling, storage, and protection of customers' household goods
Lead training and development programs for warehouse managers and supervisors
Review operational reports, work orders, and paperwork from foremen and warehouse teams
Enforce company safety standards and maintain clean, organized warehouse environments
Provide operational updates and performance reporting to senior leadership
Requirements
5-10 years of experience in the moving & storage industry (required)
5+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse operations or multiple facilities
Strong understanding of moving warehouse operations, wooden crate storage systems, and household goods handling
Experience managing daily warehouse loading and offloading operations in high-volume environments
Proven experience building and enforcing standard operating procedures across multiple warehouses
Experience managing warehouse supervisors and large operational teams
Strong organizational, operational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish is a strong plus)
Ability to read and interpret warehouse layouts, floor plans, and storage configurations
Willingness to travel between warehouse locations regularly
Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional nights and weekends
Valid driver’s license
Salary: $130,000 - $150,000
Schedule: During our busy summer season, our operations team is working 6 days per week onsite.
