Procurement Associate
About the Company:
Founded in 2008 by Ross Sapir, Roadway Moving is built on the core principles of accountability, kindness, generosity, and dedication. These values drive a culture of excellence, where our people—not just our trucks—set us apart in a crowded industry. We believe in investing in both our employees and our clients, fostering an environment rooted in respect, urgency, clear communication, and appreciation. At Roadway, we don’t just move boxes, we move lives, and we do it with a commitment to making the experience remarkable for everyone involved.
As we scale, the need for centralized, data-driven procurement and vendor management has become critical. This role will serve as the operational backbone for all vendor relationships, uniform and materials inventory, and branch-level compliance — ensuring that every location operates from the same playbook and that costs are tracked, visible, and controlled.
Responsibilities:
Uniform & Inventory Management
Own the Roadway merch store end-to-end: product catalog, inventory levels, order fulfillment, and compliance enforcement
Monitor branch-level uniform distribution and ensure all managers are processing orders through the designated store platform (no bypassing the system)
Generate and distribute weekly inventory reports; flag discrepancies and hold branch managers accountable to the process
Coordinate with the uniform vendor on reorders, quality issues, and delivery timelines
Vendor & Materials Procurement
Manage relationships with all active vendors including blanket suppliers, rug runner vendors, and the primary materials vendor
Work toward establishing direct vendor-to-branch shipping for each of Roadway's 8 locations by eliminating internal redistribution and improving cost tracking per branch
Maintain up-to-date vendor contracts, pricing agreements, and compliance documentation
Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors, renegotiate terms, or reduce lead times
Cost Tracking & Branch Separation
Build and maintain a branch-level cost allocation model so that material spend is accurately attributed per location, not estimated
Partner with the CFO to provide real procurement data to replace approximations in financial reporting
Track spend trends over time and proactively surface savings opportunities or budget risks
Compliance & Process Enforcement
Ensure branch managers adhere to established ordering and reporting protocols
Proactively communicate process expectations, deadlines, and consequences for non-compliance
Document all procurement processes in clear SOPs to ensure continuity regardless of personnel changes
Required:
3+ years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain operations with US based company
Experience with managing WooCommerce stores and comfortable knowledge working with basic website settings
Strong analytical skills, comfortable building reports, identifying discrepancies, and communicating data clearly
Experience managing multiple vendor relationships simultaneously across different product categories
Proficiency in Excel or equivalent data tools; familiarity with inventory or ERP systems is a plus
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Clear, professional communicator, both written and verbal, capable of holding stakeholders accountable without friction
Preferred:
Background in operations, logistics, or a service-based industry
Experience with e-commerce or branded merchandise store management
Familiarity with cost center accounting or branch-level P&L reporting
Exposure to Lean or process improvement methodologies
Experience building or contributing to internal operational platforms or tools
