Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a high energy, ambitious Payroll Coordinator that can independently manage all aspects of the Payroll Department. Not only will the right candidate need to have full knowledge of the payroll, but must be cool, and free spirited to fit in with our staff.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for managing payroll for 300+ employees.
Processing weekly and monthly payroll.
Understanding of federal and state laws pertaining for NYS for payroll, lawful deductions.
Understanding of exempt vs. non-exempt employees.
Experience with calculating and processing commission based payroll for Sales team and Movers.
Reviewing and calculating trip closing reports for Drivers and processing payroll appropriately.
Creating and submitting census reports for health and 401k benefits
Entering and processing garnishments, benefits and other related requests.
Review and modify employees PTO, hours worked, pay adjustments.
Requirements:
In-house payroll experience is a must
Experience with Microsoft Programs (Excel/Word)
Experience with Paychex and Paychex Time and Attendance (a plus)
Experience of Commission Based salaries
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Performs other duties as assigned
